MapleStory and Dungeon & Fighter shatter expectations to drive Nexon’s Q1 2019 results
Success in China and South Korea have driven strong results for Nexon in Q1 2019.
The Japanese-Korean publisher posted record-breaking revenue for quarter, exceeding outlooks to earn $849 million (¥93.1 billion) for the period ending March 31st - a three per cent year-over-year rise.
Operating Income hit $480 million (¥52.6 billion), with net income reaching $487 million (¥53.4 billion). Both exceeded expectations.

Nexon CEO Owen Mahoney credited Dungeon & Fighter’s success in China as one of the drivers for the strong results, with the battler exceeding expectations.
Additionally, several games surpassed expectations in South Korea, including MapleStory, FIFA Online 4 and Lyn: The Lightbringer.
Nexon is hopeful going forwards, predicting a nine to 19 per cent year-over-year revenue increase for the coming quarter.
