Super Evil Megacorp hires to push Vainglory into Asia

Vainglory developer Super Evil Megacorp has hired Taewon Yun as the company’s new general manager for the Asia Pacific region (APAC).

Having accumulated over 18 years’ experience in the industry, Yun is a veteran of Wargaming, Blizzard and EA.

He will now be based in Singapore, where he’ll focus on a recruitment drive across Japan and Korea.

Super Evil Megacorp was keen to stress in the announcement that Vainglory has received overwhelmingly positive feedback since launch, netting over 20,000 five-star reviews.

"Vainglory proves how much opportunity there is for core games to thrive on touch devices, and Super Evil understands how to build, publish and grow games specifically on this platform and reach a new generation of gamers,” said Yun.

“I’m very much looking forward to expanding Vainglory and Super Evil’s reach in the region by hiring more top talent, establishing partnerships and helping to bring Vainglory to as many core game lovers in the region as possible.”

It will certainly be interesting to track the game's progress in the region, because as our Charticle demonstrated, the MOBA is yet to demonstrate strong monetisation in western markets.
