Rovio spreads its wings with new country director for India

Rovio, keen not to remain dependent on the European and North American markets in which it made its name, has announced the appointment of a new country director for the high-growth India and South Asia region.

Anurag Sachdeva, the man taking the role, has a history of working in the region - specifically in mobile telecomms, for Vodafone and Virgin Mobile India.

Considering that one of the biggest challenges facing developers in India is infrastructure, this knowledge will be invaluable.

His previous role at Rovio  was associate director, business development for India and Southeast Asia.

Nest expansion

It is this understanding of the Indian market that Rovio is hoping it can benefit from, as the Finnish firm looks to consolidate its position in South Asia with Sachdeva leading the way.

“Anurag has proven to be an asset steering the growth of Rovio in this very important market,” said Alex Lambeek, Rovio’s Chief Commercial Officer.

“He brings valuable experience to our Flock’s leadership in South Asia and he will be key to helping us raise our game even further in the region."

"We look forward to working closely with Anurag and supporting him in this new journey."
