Despite spending $15 million on UA, Com2uS sees FY15 Q1 profits rise to $25 million

Korean mobile game publisher Com2uS (KOSDAQ:078340) has announced its FY2015 Q1 financials, for the 3 months ending 31 March 2015.

Sales were up 345 percent year-on-year to $84.5 million (KRW 93.7 billion).

Significantly, business outside of Korea remains the key area of growth, with international sales up 18 percent quarter-on-quarter, or 942 percent year-on-year.

Indeed, during Q1, international sales accounted for 83 percent sales, with North American performing well.

In order to sustain this, Com2uS is marketing heavily, however, with marketing expenses up 71 percent quarter-on-quarter to $15 million.

Net profit was up 18 percent quarter-on-quarter to $24.6 million (KRW 27.3 billion).

More games

As with previous quarters, the games that are generating the cash for Com2uS remain RPG Summoners War and sports games Ace Fishing and Golf Star.

Com2uS is growing both on an annual and sequential basis

Com2uS is looking to new titles to drive future growth, though; notably RPGs Dragon Knights, East Legend and Soul Seeker, and sports game Com2uS Baseball 2015.
