Google, Amazon and Microsoft talk app store best practices

One of the many panels held at Pocket Gamer Connects Bangalore 2015 saw representatives from Amazon, Google and Microsoft discussing their app stores.

Mike Hines of Amazon, Kunal Soni of Google, and Sandeep Alur of Microsoft joined Manish Agarwal of Reliance Entertainment (now with Nazara Technologies) to talk about what sells best on their respective stores.

Know your players

Mike Hines is particularly vocal on making sure there's a social element to a game, saying it's necessary "to keep people bragging and talking about your game."

Kunal Soni meanwhile says that it's important for developers to "understand the local flavour", and make sure that games are designed with a specific market in mind.
