Don't be a prisoner of indie games, says Christophe Comparin

At Pocket Gamer Connects Bangalore 2015, Christophe Comparin, Senior Project Manager Trainer at Rubika Video Game School, gave a talk on the basics of game production.

Comparin warned against becoming a "prisoner of indie games", suggesting that developers should make the game they want to make, and not what is expected.

In his own words, "if you want to do something else, well, do something else."

Start your engines

Comparin also offered some practical advice, suggesting developers should make sure aspects of the game such as the engine are decided on well in advance to avoid problems later in development.

He also suggested that everyone on the team should have one specific task, so that their focus is clear, and that the team communicate effectively to make sure everything is done on time.
