Apple has dropped to fifth place in Chinese smartphone shipments, as local Android manufacturers secured their lead.
The company saw its iPhones making up just 10.8% of smartphones sold in China in May, down from 12% last year.

Meanwhile, Huawei devices made up 17.3% of smartphones sold, while Oppo saw its market share almost double to 11%.
The top four local smartphone manufacturers now make up 53% of the smartphone market combined.
Apple had hoped to find success in China with the launch of the cheaper iPhone SE, but instead found itself amid a number of regulatory setbacks and lawsuits.
