Report: Tencent taking $3.5 billion loan for Supercell deal

Tencent is taking out $3.5 billion in loans as part of its acquisition of Clash Royale developer Supercell. People “familiar with the matter” claimed to Bloomberg that the Chinese internet company has commitments from 23 banks to make up the money for the deal. Tencent is expected to seal a huge $8.6 billion majority purchase of Finnish studio Supercell from Softbank.

Apple opening second China R&D centre in Shenzhen

Apple will open a second R&D centre in China with a new location in the southern city of Shenzhen. The centre will look to attract developers from the local area to work on new projects for the China market. It will also be used to strengthen relationships with universities and partners in the country. It is the second R&D centre being opened by Apple in China following the announcement of a similar centre in Beijing. The Beijing centre will cost $45 million and employ around 500 staff.

Note 7危机　三星未来两季利润预期减30亿美元

Samsung to lose $3 billion in next six months following catastrophic Galaxy Note 7 launch

Samsung is set to lose $3.1 billion across Q4 2016 and Q1 2017 following its discontinuation of the Galaxy Note 7. The company has said in a statement that it expects to lose $2.2 billion through Q4. It then expects to lose $900 million in Q1 of 2017. It has also stated that it will return to pushing its older Galaxy S7 model in an attempt to make up for the loss.

索尼ForwardWorks今后18个月内推六款游戏

索尼主打手机游戏业务的子公司ForwardWorks力求在2017财年推出五、六款新手机游戏。游戏将在Android和苹果iOS上推出。ForwardWorks会先在日本发布游戏，再扩张到亚洲其他地区。目前未披露游戏会否在西方发布。

Sony ForwardWorks to release up to six games across the next 18 months

Sony's mobile-focused ForwardWorks studio is aiming to release five or six new titles in its 2017 fiscal year. The games will launch on both Android and iOS. ForwardWorks will release the games in Japan first before expanding their launch to the rest of Asia. There is no word on whether they will receive a Western release.

5) GAME RELEASE NEWS

Nexon bringing Maple Story, Dungeon & Fighters and five other games to mobile by the end of 2016

South Korean publisher Nexon has revealed plans to roll out seven mobile games based on its existing PC IPs by the end of 2016. Mobile editions of MMO Maple Story and multiplayer fighter Dungeon & Fighters are among the titles announced. It will also publish a mobile version of Elsword Slash. Nexon will also be publishing quiz game Quiz Planet, developed by Monster Planet, and strategy sim Marching Legions from Cocoon Games.
