Beijing-based developer Elex soft-launches Sega-licensed mobile game Total War: King's Return

Beijing-based mobile game developer Elex Technology has partnered with Sega to develop a new mobile version of its Total War series called Total War: King's Return.

The game is currently soft-launched on Android and iOS in Denmark, Finland, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Norway, Pakistan, Philippines, Sweden, Switzerland and Vietnam. It was first released on December 27th 2016.

It appears to be a traditional base-builder with players building and upgrading their HQs before battling with other users. There will also be large-scale battles to take part in that are reminiscent of traditional Total War battles.

Gathering the troops

While neither Elex nor Sega has officially announced the title, Elex has already begun building a community. The game's Facebook page started in August 2016 and currently has over 11,000 likes.

Sega itself currently has two titles in soft-launch, including original fantasy IP Kingdom Conquest: Dark Empire, and a clicker based on the Crazy Taxi franchise called Crazy Taxi Gazillionaire.
