Not huge player numbers, but an enormous LTV

MMO Logres of Swords and Sorcery gears up for Western launch after eight million downloads in Japan

Marvelous Inc and Aiming Inc are gearing up for a Western release of their mobile MMO Logres of Swords and Sorcery under the name Logres: Japanese RPG.

The game has achieved over eight million downloads in Japan alone since first launching in December 2013. It is a turn-based RPG with anime-style graphics specifically designed for a Japanese audience.

Logres will receive a closed beta test period starting in April 2017. It will only be open to participants in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom and the USA.

Slow to grow

Eight million downloads in just over three years doesn't represent explosive growth, and Logres has had a relatively slow increase of downloads over the years. It only hit seven million downloads in October 2015.

That said, it remains a viable product on the back of its high LTV. Marvelous Europe's former General Manager Harry Holmwood stated back in July 2015 that the game has an ARPPU of $200 a month.
