Former Kixeye-r Bachman-Wood now GMing SGN's San Francisco office

The studio behind Cookie Jam, SGN, has hired Melissa Bachman-Wood as the new general manager of its San Francisco office.

Bachman-Wood boasts a blend of experience in both PC and social gaming, having racked up nearly two decades of experience in the games industry.

Previously development director on EA’s The Sims, she moved on to roles at Foundation 9 and Backbone Entertainment before assuming her most recent post at Kixeye where she oversaw the development of Battle Pirates and War Commander.

New opportunities

"The mobile gaming industry has grown exponentially, and SGN is a leading developer of top titles," she said in a statement.

"This is a tremendous opportunity to bring my background creating and managing successful games to one of the fastest growing companies in the industry."

Now she will take responsibility for all aspects of development for SGN’s San Francisco studio, from engineering to art and design.

"Melissa is a gaming industry expert. Developing one of the world's most successful franchises - The Sims - she has firsthand knowledge of how to create, scale and globalize social games," said SGN CEO Chris DeWolfe.

"With her leadership, our Bay Area studio will continue to thrive."
