Ex-EA EVP and Linden Labs CEO Rod Humble joins Jam City

Los Angeles-based mobile game publisher Jam City, formerly SGN Games, has hired Rod Humble and Robert Zakari.

The former is best known for his seven-year stint overseeing The Sims and other franchises as EVP of EA between 2004 and 2011, and later as CEO of Second Life developer Linden Labs.

He joins Jam City as the General Manager of its San Francisco studio.

Experience is key

Zakari, meanwhile, will be bringing his strong legal background to his new role as EVP of Corporate Development & General Counsel.

“With Rod, we’re getting an accomplished artist and a manager with 25 years of excellence and success,” said Jam City CEO Chris DeWolfe.

“Robert is a triple threat: he’s got more experience than the general counsel of any private tech startup in Los Angeles. Plus, he’s a seasoned deal negotiator with a creative approach to corporate development.”

These high-profile hires come at a time of rapid growth for Jam City, which has hired more than 130 new employees since June and rebranded in September.
