Former Next Games Senior Executive Kalle Kaivola has joined Munich-based developer Remote Control Productions as its new COO.

He joins CEO Hendrik Lesser and CFO Christian Kleissl on the company's executive leadership team. Kaivola will use his new role to help establish new teams and improve the quality of existing and new games.

Kaivola joins from Helsinki-based developer Next Games where he was Head of Licensed Games and worked on the studio's flagship title The Walking Dead: No Man's Land.

Spreading his wings

Prior to working at Next Games, Kaivola was Senior Vice President of Product and Publishing at Rovio. There he worked with Remote Control Productions on its Rovio-licensed title Angry Birds Epic.

"Looking back these last few years, the game industry is changing more rapidly than ever - not only are platforms coming and going but even business models," said Kaivola.

"I've always loved the RCP idea of a family of developers pooling their strengths, and thriving together as a strong community while staying independent."
