Mobile virtual world Mini Friday nearing 1m users

Habbo spin-off heading to iPhone soon

Mobile virtual world Mini Friday nearing 1m users

Virtual worlds firm Habbo has revealed that its mobile spin-off Mini Friday is about to pass the one million registered users milestone.

The world, which sprang out of web virtual world Habbo Hotel, is only available for Nokia Series 60 handsets and for users older than 18, so that's not bad going, even if it's small beer in comparison to Habbo's 100 million registered members.

Mini Friday is still in beta, although it should emerge from that
soon, according to Habbo founders Sampo Karjalainen and Aapo Kyrola, speaking at the Slush event in Finland this week.

The company is apparently working on an iPhone version of Mini Friday, which would be one of the first virtual worlds to hit Apple's handset. We're wondering what's happened to the planned release of a Habbo client for N-Gage, which was trailed some months ago.
