Taking a big bite out of app promotion

FAAD does one million app downloads; launches Jaws into US paid top 5
It's time for another milestone from iPhone discovery site FreeAppADay.

Its iPhone app, which highlights promotions including via push notifications, has now been downloaded over a million times.

The daily promotions continue on too, with founder and CEO Joe Bayen pointing out the ability of the service to help developers promote paid games as well as the free games that proved to be so successful initially.

Need a bigger app

Most recently, it's helped Bytemark Game's Jaws shoot into the US top grossing top 5 following its August 17 launch and subsequence price cut from $2.99 to 99c.

"Our foray into the paid promotional campaign has so far been outstanding. Apart from Apple's featured sections, there is currently no other platform which can impact the rankings of paid campaign so dramatically as FAAD," said Bayen.

Additionally, another eight FAAD promoted apps were in the US free top 10, and 10 in the top 15 over the weekend.
