Huawei launches white label Digital Shopping Mall for operators
Global number two in the mobile infrastructure equipment market, Chinese outfit Huawei has announced its Digital Shopping Mall.

A white label app store for operators, it provides what the company calls 'a unified service platform that aggregates mobile internet applications, enables more revenue generation, and ultimately delivers a better cloud-based service experience to end users'.

Supporting smartphone platforms such as Android, BlackBerry, Window Mobile and Symbian, it also handles feature phones, enabling operators to sell music, games, apps and e-books via an app and a mobile store.

Around 80,000 pieces of content selected by Huawei are said to be available.

Payment options include operator billing and credit card. The revenue split is said by Distimo to follow the usual 70 percent for developers and 30 percent for carriers, although that doesn't make it clear how Huawei gets its slice of the pie.
