GDC 2011: BlackBerry App World is a compelling opportunity for developers says RIM's John Thomas
As part of his GDC talk entitled 'Getting your games on the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet,' RIM's manager of handheld software product, John Thomas spoke about the company's app store.

"There are over two million downloads per day on BlackBerry App World from our 60 million subscribers," Thomas revealed.

"On a per app basis, a paid app on BlackBerry App World makes a lot more money than a paid app on App Store or Android Market," he added.

"There's less competition and our subscribers are happy to spend money. I think it's a very compelling opportunity for developers."

The company is also encouraging developers to make content for its new tablet BlackBerry PlayBook by promising all developers who submit an app before the end of March a free PlayBook.
