Adult Swim prepares for App Store invasion with five games before December

Signs long-term dev deal with PikPok

Adult Swim prepares for App Store invasion with five games before December
Adult Swim, the edgy TV channel that's part of Turner Broadcasting, is no stranger to iOS games.

With releases such as 5 Minutes to Kill (Yourself), Amateur Surgeon and Robot Unicorn Attack, it was an early supporter of the format, although quieter over the past 12 months.

That's all changed, however, as it's announced five games to be released before the end of the year, and more to come in 2012.

Monster, monster

Out now is Monsters Ate My Condo by New Zealand studio PikPok, which has also signed a multi-title deal with Adult Swim.

The publisher's next game will be Bring Me Sandwiches!! from US studio Grumpyface.

"Our goal is to make great games and make sure they find an audience, said Jeff Olsen, vice-president of Adult Swim digital and games.

"Working with PikPok and Grumpyface, we know we're going to get really high-quality, original work, so we can really invest in development and promotion."

Mario Wynands, MD of PikPok added, "Partnering with Adult Swim for multiple titles is a great opportunity for us both commercially and creatively. Working with their team and being able to access their extensive audience allows us to create a high quality range of diverse and interesting content."
