MMORPG specialist says smartphones the future

WeMade Entertainment makes mobile move with 8 game assault
Branching out from its base delivering MMORPGs for PC, South Korean studio WeMade Entertainment has unveiled eight new games for mobile as it looks to sure up its smartphone support.

Said releases include Goblin Mobile, Fighters, Silkroad M, StarCity Mobile, Every Farm 2, Epic Island, Cafestoria Mobile and Braves, with CEO Namgung Hun claiming smartphones will play a large part in the studio's future.

Smart move

"Some speculates that mobile devices will outperform video game consoles within 3 years, we agreed with it," said Hun, speaking at the firm's software showcase in Seoul.

"Playing on hands does not mean the quality is behind PC games. We would rather show features for mobile devices that PC cannot present."

Said releases, it's claimed, will spam social games, RTS releases and so-called 'minigames', with WeMade having recently made a number of acquisitions in the field – including the purchases Ngonsoft, Fever Studio, Link Tomorrow and Liny Works – in order to strengthen its smartphone hand.

No specific platforms have yet been mentioned, however.

The firm is also set to employ its own social network – dubbed We Social – within its release, utilising its $4.6 million share investment in smartphone messenger tool KakaoTalk.
