TV times: Zynga's in-game currency to be bundled with internet and TV packages
Thanks to a newly-inked deal, Zynga's in-game currency could soon be offered as part of the TV and internet service bundles sold by US providers such as Verizon.

The deal in question is a partnership with Synacor, an 'integration, authentication and engagement platform' that's part-owned by Intel.

Synacor delivers digital entertainment to more than 45 cable and telecom providers, including Verizon, US Cable and Broadstripe.

Cash monies

As such, US consumers may soon receive a monthly allowance of Zynga currency as part of their broadband and TV packages, which is good news for FarmVille addicts and Zynga shareholders alike.

"Synacor is delighted to be working with Zynga, and this partnership will build upon an ecosystem that continues to expand the definition of the bundle for our customers," commented Synacor CEO Ron Frankel.

"Zynga is always looking for innovative opportunities to deliver the best value in entertainment for its new and existing players," added Zynga's chief revenue officer Barry Cottle.

"Our partnership with Synacor will enable us to offer additional value to premium pay-TV subscribers with in-game currency while providing easy navigation to their favourite Zynga games directly from their PC home screens."
