Spreading fast: Marmalade unveils new games publishing division

Marmalade Technologies has announced the formation of a new publishing division, Marmalade Play, aimed at providing easy access to several mobile app stores via mobile-targeted promotions.

To cement its launch, Marmalade has also unveiled a publishing agreement with classic brands licensed by Activision which include Blur Overdrive and The Activision Decathlon.

Said two titles will launch first on Google Play on 25 October, before coming to the App Store on 1 November.

"Marmalade has been steadily growing its publishing activity over the past few years to bring well known and hit titles to multiple platforms and the widest range of players possible," detailed Marmalade Play head Massimo Caporale.

"Today we underline this by bringing these amazing Activision titles to market at the same time as creating our new publishing division.

"We look forward to Marmalade Play further strengthening its position as a leading publisher of top class, cross-platform content."

Marmalade intends Marmalade play to be a true cross-platform publishing tool, and works with Apple, Google, BlackBerry, Microsoft, ARM, Samsung, Intel, LG, Amazon, and other major app stores to ensure a broad distribution of its titles.

Earleir this year, Marmalade unveiled Marmalade Juice to help iOS games branch out to other platforms. Shortly thereafter, it unveiled its first products to support Windows Phone 8.
