GDC Europe 2014: We partied like only pirates know how, and we've got the pictures to prove it

With GDC Europe over for another year, it's time to reflect on another unforgettable event.

Of course, we can't look back without mentioning our very own pirate-themed Pocket Gamer party, which was a roaring success thanks to our terrific sponsors, Chukong Technologies and Game Insight, and all of the wonderfully talented games industry men and women who proved that there ain't no party like a Pocket Gamer party.

As you'd expect, the banks of the river Rhein were overflowing with industry pirates as the mobs descended on the spectacular Wartesaal waterfront venue for a night of pillaging, plundering, and mobile gaming chit chat.

Where else at GDC would you see an inflatable parrot?

Planks were walked, sea shanties were sung, and the rum barrels were, rightfully, empty by the time our shindig was over.

So, just in case you can't quite recall the entire night - don't worry, we won't judge you here - we've uploaded some photos to Facebook to help jog your memory.

Oh, and while we've got you clicking links, you should probably use this one to find out where we'll be partying next. We'd hate for you to miss out.

Until next time, you salty sea dog!

Thanks once again to all of our illustrious guests and our sponsors Chukong Technologies and Game Insight.

What do you call someone who has an unhealthy obsession with video games and Sean Bean? That'd be a 'Chris Kerr'. Chris is one of those deluded souls who actually believes that one day Sean Bean will survive a movie. Poor guy.
