From Apple Watch to APAC, Super Mario to Star Wars, VCs to VR - explore mobile gaming's frontiers at PGC San Francisco

The mobile gaming business is forecast to breakthrough $40 billion in 2018 and by some market definitions is already the biggest single segment of the games industry.

But what will drive that expansion and where can the industry grow to next?

Those are the key questions up for discussion at Pocket Gamer Connects San Francisco 2015

Mario and Mattel join Kim Kardashian on the brand wagon

Nintendo have already announced its impending entry to the mobile games space with DeNA, in our keynotes and branding tracks we’ll be asking them and other console giants such as EA about their approach to mobile.

Of course game brands are only one part of the puzzle.

In a dedicated section of the main global games trends track we’ll also be talking to representatives of some of the biggest brands and the publishers who are making them pay in the mobile games market.

Can Apple Watch create a whole new games platform?

Apple has given wearables a shot in the arm, with first month sales estimated anywhere from 2 to 20 million, but will it clock up increased revenue for mobile games companies and how big can watch gaming really get?

Can Google Cardboard spring a surprise or do we have to wait for 2016 for the breakthrough of VR? And what about AR?

In our Future Tech section of the Bonus Level we’ll be talking with the first wave of watch developers about their experiences and predictions.

We’ll also be dedicating a chunk of time to exploring the exciting world of VR, with the platform holders, leading developers and market analysts all giving their view on the potential.

Is it too late to crack China? Should we be piling into South East Asia?

The Asian markets remain some of the most lucrative and fast-growing in the world. But how much of an opportunity do they really represent for western companies?

Our East meets West track will explore the latest figures, facts and fictions and offer practical tips for entering the major markets of China, Korea and Japan.

We’ll also turn the looking glass on the next wave of emerging South East Asia markets of Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia as well as India to see if the hype is justified.
