Game developers, fans, and industry leaders have joined together to mourn the passing of the late Nintendo president Satoru Iwata.
He sadly passed away last night aged 55 after losing his battle with cancer.
Iwata joined Nintendo in 2000, and quickly became a leading light in the Japanese gaming scene. In recent months, he stood at the helm as Nintendo sailed into the new waters of mobile gaming.
Within hours of the news breaking early this morning UK time, Iwata’s name started trending on Twitter as tributes poured in.
