How to save money by growing a userbase organically

As part of Pocket Gamer Connects Bangalore 2015, Venkatesh C.R., managing director and CEO of Dot Com Infoway, gave a talk on how to advertise apps organically as opposed to paid methods.

Venkatesh recommended starting advertising "before the app is actually launched", by creating teaser videos and recruiting beta testers to help spread the word.

He also suggests that product descriptions are a key area to draw people into using your app, and that a good one will boost downloads.

"Don't write a long story", he says, instead suggesting developers should target specific markets within the description, for example by proclaiming that the app is "best for kids" if aiming at a younger market.
