A panel of experts dish out advice

Video: The power of brands for mobile games

As part of Pocket Gamer Connects San Francisco 2015, George Osborn led a panel of branding experts in a discussion about licensing in mobile games.

He was joined by Macy Mills, Director of Strategic Partnerships at Hitcents; Danielle Nicholson, Senior Franchise Manager – Licensing at Enedemol Shine North America; Chris Akhavan, President of Publishing at Glu Mobile; Michael Blank, Business Development Executive at Creative Artists Agency; and Devin Radford, VP of Mobile at Fox Digital Entertainment.

Be realistic and enthusiastic

Akhavan warned that a license can take anywhere between six months and a year to actually be granted to a developer, so when organising the licensing, "be realistic about that timeframe."

Blank offered advice on approaching a brand to work with them, saying that the most important part of a pitch is "showing that you are as excited about doing this project with the talent as they are about doing it with you."
