NCsoft announces three team US mobile studio Iron Tiger

Korean F2P publisher NCsoft hasn't traditionally been strong in mobile games.

But it's now looking to invest much more aggressively.

So following from a $5 million investment in ex-Kabam startup This Game Studio, it's announced a new mobile gaming division in the US.

Called Iron Tiger, and located in San Mateo, it will develop original content as well as working on games based on existing IP.

Staffing up

"NCsoft West is accelerating and the launch of Iron Tiger is a key step in enabling us to develop extraordinary and innovative games more rapidly and across more platforms", said SVP, mobile at NCsoft West, Jesse Taylor.

"We are looking for the best and brightest minds in all of gaming to become part of the Iron Tiger and NCsoft West teams."

The studio is currently staffing up to support three game teams, as well as a self-contained mobile publishing group.

It expects to have over 100 employees over the next 12 months.
