German publisher gains another convert

Emerald City signs up with Flaregames for next titles in Lionheart RPG franchise

Expansive German publisher Flaregames has signed another deal.

This time it's announced a partnership with Canada outfit Emerald City Games.

It's best known for the highly regarded Lionheart Tactics, which was published on mobile through Kongregrate in 2014.

Emerald City is now listed alongside developers such as Limbic Software (Zombie Gunship) and Subatomic Studios (Fieldrunners), in terms of studios who will be publishing with Flaregames in 2016.

Buffed up

In terms of further details, there's little of substance, other than the news that the 'next instalment in the Lionheart franchise, will be released globally for mobile devices towards the end of 2016'.

"With the game universe looking stunning, and with our strong belief in the franchise, this new Lionheart game is a great fit for the flaregames portfolio. It represents where we want to be as a publisher – working with awesome developers to deliver great gameplay experiences," commented Flaregames' CEO Klaas Kersting.

Emerald City Games CEO Derek Day added: "As soon as we met the Flaregames team, it seemed like we shared a lot of the same values, and that doing business with them would be a true partnership."
