What UK developers need to know about the UK Games Fund

Up to £25,000 for developers to build prototypes

What UK developers need to know about the UK Games Fund

As part of Pocket Gamer Connects London 2016, Mark Hogarth, Director at UK Games Talent and Finance CIC, gave a talk on supporting new games IP.

More specifically, he talked about the recently established UK Games Fund, which offers up to £25,000 ($35,500) to games developers to help build prototypes for games.

Home grown success

Hogarth said that the fund is important now because the UK government "recognises the need to grow the volume of original IP" in the country to keep developers successful.

The idea of the original IP is central to the fund – while games considered can be of any genre and for any console, Hogarth firmly stated that it is "not for licensed IP."
