TrulySocial raises investment from Nazara Games, London Venture Partners and Supercell game lead

Indian publisher Nazara Games has co-invested in London-based mobile games studio TrulySocial, which is currently developing a "contemporary social world" game.

Co-investors into the minority round include early Supercell VC, London Venture Partners and Drussila Hollanda-Grönberg, Game Lead at Supercell.

A perfect fit

“We see a perfect fit with TrulySocial’s contemporary social world and are working with them to bring a completely new genre of gaming to India," said Nazara CEO, Manish Agarwal.

“With TrulySocial we are delighted to have an opportunity to see ourselves along with key international players. We plan to bring new, innovative and delightful content for the Indian gaming audience."

TrulySocial's debut game is being developed specifically for women, and will reportedly take the best parts of dress-up, fashion, and celebrity content, and combine them with a narrative-led game focusing on dating and relationships.

Healthy beginnings

“Emerging markets are not a mere afterthought for us. We are positioned to build a presence in India, right from the start," said Salone Sehgal, CEO & co-founder of TrulySocial.

"The investment and marketing partnership with Nazara secures distribution for our localized game. With celebrity tie up’s through Nazara, we look forward to bringing innovative gaming content to Indian audiences."

"As a female developer myself, TrulySocial's commitment to the female players really inspires me," said Drussila Hollanda-Grönberg.

“We have been looking ever more carefully for teams with new ideas and a different approach to stand out from the crowded apps marketplace. Truly Social are doing just that and we believe they will succeed," added LVP's David Gardner

The currently untitled game is set for global release by the end of 2016.
