Two years and 26 million downloads on, Monument Valley has generated $14.3 million

Staying true to its promise of transparency back in January 2015, London studio Ustwo Games has released an infographic detailing Monument Valley's performance over two years.

It reports that the number of official all-time downloads - not including those via illegal channels, of which there have been many - is 26,102,459.

However, 21,007,189 of these took place during promotions when the game was free.

The power of free

Including unauthorised downloads, Chinese app stores, and multiple device installs from a single sale, the game has been installed on more than 50 million devices.

Total revenue for the game sits at $14,378,500, a huge 73% of which came through iOS.

Interestingly, for the second year of the game's life so far, almost as many downloads came through the "actually free" Amazon Underground program (636,187) as through Google Play (636,783).

Revenue through Amazon Underground's per-minute payment model sits in the 'Other' category, which accounts for 6% of all revenues and "includes distribution deals, platform holder deals and merchandise sales."

One can assume that, within that category, Underground makes up the lion's share.
