Join our VR Mixer drinks at BFI in London on 23 June

To celebrate the Global VR Challenge’s first round of judging, Pocket Gamer is holding a VR drinks and pop up VR showcase on Thursday 23rd June in London at BFI.

This event looks to to bring together developers, media, and industry experts from within the VR community, for an evening dedicated to all things virtual reality.

What's more, whether you’ve entered the competition or not, you’re still more than welcome to join us, grab a drink, and just generally network and chat with some of the leading minds in the VR world.

There's also room to showcase your latest VR development, whether it's currently in development or has already been published.

So, what with free attendance, free drinks, and a whole lot of VR games and talk, what’s there not to like?

You can find out more on our event page, and click here to sign-up now and ensure your ticket (and free drinks).

Global VR Challenge

So what exactly is the Global VR Challenge? Well, for those not yet in the know, the Global VR Challenge is a brand new VR developer competition set up in association with leading Chinese developer DeePoon.

This international VR competition will look to identify the best VR games, development talent, and concepts on an international level, whilst also helping to introduce them to the world’s biggest VR market, China.

That’s not all though, as with $35,000 in cash prizes for the winners, alongside an expenses paid trip to ChinaJoy in Shanghai for all those shortlisted, and even a range of DeePoon VR hardware up for grabs, this is one competition anyone developing for VR doesn’t want to miss.

So if you’ve got a VR game or concept that is currently either unreleased, or has been released in the last 6 months but hasn’t been published in the Chinese market, then you still have until the new deadline of midnight on Monday 22nd June to enter.

To do so simply submit a description of your game / concept along with any assets available via the Global VR Challenge website.

Those shortlisted for the second round of judging will then be announced following the first round of judging on Friday 24th June.
