With Rise of Tyrants prepping for launch, Z2Live sunsets legacy titles including Trade Nations

Nothing in the world is permanent.

And that's particularly the case when it comes to free-to-play games.

The latest company to announce its sunsetting legacy titles is the King-owned US developer Z2Live.

What's next?

One of the early companies to successfully release F2P games on the App Store, it's now shutting down the following titles with server switch off timed for 28 September.

  • Trade Nations (2010)
  • Battle Nations (2011)
  • MetalStorm: Online (2011)
  • Nitro (2011)
  • MetalStorm: Aces (2013)

All the games have been pulled from the various app stores, but people who have them installed can still play (although not buy IAPs) until the final shut off.

The good news, however, is Z2Live has the highly anticipated nextgen mobile strategy Rise of Tyrants in soft launch.
