Almost two-thirds of Pokemon GO players are female

SurveryMonkey has revealed a number of statistics relating to Pokemon GO's user demographic.

According to the market intelligence firm's research, 63% of players are female, while 46% of players are aged between 18 and 29.

The research also found that the majority of players (45.8%) had incomes of less than $50,000, while 90% of players lived in urban areas.

The age statistic isn't all that surprising, considering these players would have been children when Pokemon was last at peak popularity, and the game hits on that nostalgia factor.

Some disagreement

The gender split statistic however goes against StartApp's estimate, which suggested 67% of players were male.

It is also worth noting that SurveyMonkey only surveys data from people aged over 18.

No matter who might be playing Pokemon GO, it's still obviously popular, with App Annie recently claiming the game was generating $10 million a day in revenue.

But of course, only Niantic Labs, The Pokemon Company and Nintendo know the real figures.
