Hitting 100,000 installs a month, Gear VR fishing sim Bait! passes 700,000 downloads

Swedish developer Resolution Games has surpassed 700,000 downloads of its free Gear VR fishing game Bait!

It previously passed 500,000 in June 2016, so it has taken a little over two months to achieve another 200,000 downloads of the free game, an average of 100,000 a month.

Hook, line, and sinker

The game has also had new content added, including a new fishing destination called Treehouse River, and ten new species of fish for players to catch.

"We are very excited about the interest in Bait! from the VR and games communities, and even the general public," said Tommy Palm, CEO and co-founder of Resolution Games.

"We think the virtual anglers in Bait! will find Treehouse River just as serene and yet exciting of an environment as they pursue all the new fish we’ve added."
