Deleting broken apps too

Apple to limit app name length to 50 characters in the App Store

Apple will soon be limiting the length of app names in the App Store to 50 characters.

According to Digital Trends, an email was sent out to developers on 1 September 2016 alerting them to the change, which is set to be made on 7 September, the day of Apple's upcoming event.

With less space in app names, this could be yet another avenue of App Store discovery that Apple is limiting, after introducing paid search ads.

Get it fixed

Apple will also be deleting any apps that no longer function, either because they don't work with the latest iOS, or that they are simply broken and won't load.

Apps will go through a new evaluation process that gives developers 30 days to fix their "problematic" app before it is removed from the App Store.

Any apps that crash on loading, however, will be removed immediately.
