Japan has the highest average revenue per user for its top 30 mobile games compared to any other market, according to App Annie. China however is still a rapidly growing market in terms of revenues, with its ARPU having risen to almost ten times what it was in Q1 2014. Though Japan had double the ARPU of China on iOS, China still outperformed the US.

Mobile marketer AppsFlyer has partnered with Tencent to bring AppsFlyer's analytics platform to Tencent Social Ads. It’s the first global third-party tracking service to be added to the ad platform, and will allow developers to receive real-time updates on their ads' performance. It will offer access to cohort analysis, retention reports, funnel reports and more, all in one dashboard.

Global Top Round incubator awards 10 studios $50,000 each to develop their games

The international Global Top Round accelerator program has awarded 10 studios from around the world $50,000 each to develop and market their games. The San Francisco-based firm aims to help small studios from all over the world to create a sustainable business with its program. Each of the participating studios will receive $40,000 in direct investment to support their game development, as well as an additional $10,000 for marketing purposes.

Apple to limit app name length to 50 characters in the App Store

From 7 September, Apple will be limiting the length of app names in the App Store to 50 characters. Apple will also be deleting any apps that no longer function, either because they don't work with the latest iOS, or that they are simply broken and won't load. A new evaluation process will give developers 30 days to fix their "problematic" app before it is removed from the App Store.
