Apple to set up enormous new campus at Battersea Power Station

Apple is set to create a new headquarters in London at Battersea Power Station following its renovation.

Apple will move 1,400 staff currently working in eight sites around London to the new location. It is referring to the new headquarters as a "new Apple campus".

The company will be leasing 500,000 square feet in total, with room for 3,000 employees. It will take up the top six floors of the building - around 40% of the Battersea Power Station development.

A ways off yet

Apple won't move into the premises until 2021. It will keep its main European headquarters in Ireland, where it currently owes the government $14.5 billion in unpaid taxes.

"I'm delighted Apple is moving into Battersea Power Station, helping to generate new jobs and economic prosperity for London," said Sadiq Khan, mayor of London.

"It is a further sign London is open to the world’s biggest brands and is the leading city for trade and investment."
