Zynga recruits another EA exec as its new Chief Financial Officer

Zynga has hired EA Senior VP of Finance Gerard Griffin as its new Chief Financial Officer.

Griffin has been with EA for the last 10 years and has previously held roles at KPMG and NBC.

He will be taking over from interim CFO Michelle Quejado, who will continue in her role as Chief Accounting Officer at Zynga. She had taken on duties as CFO following the departure of David Lee last year.

25 years of experience

"Gerard's 25 years of financial experience and deep understanding of the games, media and technology industries will be instrumental to Zynga," said Zynga CEO Frank Gibeau.

"His disciplined financial leadership and approach of working closely with teams to deliver high margin digital revenue, coupled with his ability to navigate business turnarounds, will help put us in a stronger position to achieve long-term growth."

It's Zynga's second senior hire this week, having already brought in former DeNA VP of Marketing and Revenue Doug Scott as its new CMO.

It also hired two other former EA execs in 2016, with Bernard Kim joining as President of Publishing in June 2016, and Matthew Bromberg joining as COO in August 2016.
