Peter Molyneux's The Trail quietly exits soft launch and releases globally

The latest game from Peter Molyneux's mobile studio 22Cans has been released on Android and iOS.

The Trail is a stylised adventure game that has players exploring a new world as a pioneer.

The game is played in portrait mode with one-thumb play in mind, and lets players explore, craft, collect, trade and discover the world around them as the travel to the town of Eden Falls.

It's 22can's third game following Curiosity: What's Inside the Cube and Godus.

The game was soft-launched in the Philippines on August 31st 2016. It received seven updates since then, expanding various social features in the game.

While 22Cans' last game, Godus, was published by DeNA, Kongregate is publishing The Trail.

Peter Molyneux had previously stated that he would not be talking about future games until they were ready for release following the troubled launch and continued operation of Godus.

Given the game's quiet soft-launch and subsequent quiet release, it would appear he has kept true to his word.
