Super Evil Megacorp has revealed a new VaingloryTeam Franchise Program to help grow its eSport through the teams that take part in it.
The franchise will offer holders a share of the revenues earned through eSports-related activities, such as ticket sales and sponsorships. Franchisees will in turn help with merchandise sales and help grow the business.
The franchisees will also form an advisory board to help develop the game as an eSport. Any changes to the metagame or tournament structure will have to be cleared by the board before being implemented.
Major step
"At the start of the year, our live eSports events were organised by a set of community and player volunteers," said Kristian Segerstrale, COO and Executive Director at Super Evil Megacorp.
"Now we are taking a major step with the Vainglory Team Franchise Program to deepen our relationships with the pro teams that are committed to helping Vainglory eSports grow.
"We are investing significant resources to help competitive teams level up their organisations and communities so we can together build a vibrant ecosystem that will define the future of eSports."
Super Evil has taken great strides throughout 2016 to grow Vainglory's eSport potential, signing deals with both Twitch and Amazon Appstore to continue its success.
