Clash of Clans' VR short was the third-most viewed game trailer on YouTube in 2016 with 37 million views

Clash of Clans' 360-degree Hog Rider trailer was the third-most viewed game trailer on YouTube in 2016.

This is according to Google's top ten most watched game trailers in 2016, which showed Clash of Clans was beaten only by console titles Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

The trailer itself positions viewers as a Hog Rider and allows them to look around in 360-degree view, either by clicking on screen or using a VR headset. It amassed over 37 million views after being published in November 2016.

Footballers and theme songs

The only other mobile game to enter the top ten was Clash of Kings, which was the fifth-most watched trailer. It has achieved over 17 million views since May 2016.

Supercell also made it into the top ten of the most viewed ads on YouTube. Its "Theme Song" TV ad for Clash Royale achieved 37 million views.

Elex Wireless also ran a German TV campaign for Clash of Kings starring footballer Bastian Schweinsteiger in May 2016. It has not placed on any end-of-year lists.
