Former Crytek employee launches crowdfunding campaign to sue developer for unpaid wages

Former Crytek employee launches crowdfunding campaign to sue developer for unpaid wages

A former Crytek employee is raising funds to sue the developer for what he claims are two months of unpaid wages.

Ludvig Lindqvist, a former FX Artist at the developer, claims that Crytek has been late paying salaries since May 2016.

He also says he has not been paid since September 2016, and that payment was a month late.

He claims his contract states that: "The Salary shall accrue from day to day and be payable monthly in or about the third business day of the following month (or on such other day in accordance with Crytek's accounting practices as modified from time to time) directly into Employee's bank account after deduction of social security fees and taxes pursuant to applicable law."

Helping out

Lindqvist is using a GoFundMe campaign to raise the €30,000 he says he needs to take the legal action against Crytek. Any excess raised will go to helping other Crytek employees who want to seek legal action.

Reports surrounding Crytek's failure to pay wages began earlier this week. It has been suggested that employees at the Bulgaria studio have stopped working entirely, and the Frankfurt studio, where Lindqvist was based, has threatened to do the same.

Crytek has yet to make a comment on  the matter.
