Swedish arm on the hunt for artists and designers

Candy Crush dev King hiring for a midcore shooter at its Stockholm studio

Candy Crush Saga developer King is hiring for a midcore shooter game currently in development at its Stockholm studio.

The listed vacancies for the project are Art Director, Senior Game Artist and Senior Game Designer.

The job listings promise that the successful candidates "will work in a small, dynamic game team with the mission to create an awesome new midcore game for mobile".

Toughening up

While best known for casual titles, this isn't the first time King has dabbled in midcore gaming.

Previously, it's soft launched turn-based strategy title Rise of Tyrants and action RPG Hero - the first of which was formally cancelled in August, while the latter was pulled from soft launch in July.

It remains to be seen whether this project will be the midcore game from King that finally sees the light of day, but it seems the firm is not giving up its midcore ambitions just yet.

You can find the vacancies featured on our Jobs Board, along with many others across the mobile games industry.

Features Editor

Matt is really bad at playing games, but hopefully a little better at writing about them. He's Features Editor for PocketGamer.biz, and has also written for lesser publications such as IGN, VICE, and Paste Magazine.
