Collaboration starts to make more sense

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius celebrates nine million downloads with Ariana Grande remix

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius has surpassed nine million downloads outside of Japan in its first six months of release.

Square Enix revealed the figure in a video to announce its collaboration with singer Ariana Grande. The pop star had already revealed the collaboration herself via her Instagram account.

Party time

As part of the collaboration, Square Enix has produced a remix of Grande's song "Touch It" with a 52-piece orchestra performing the piece in a Final Fantasy style.

The game is also coming up to its first anniversary after launching in Japan in 2016. As of July 2016 it had managed 6.5 million downloads in Japan alone.

Brave Exvius has proven to be a hit for Square Enix in revenue terms. The publisher broke it out alongside Mobius Final Fantasy as part of its strong sales success in its H1 FY17 financials.
