Glu Mobile has partnered with baseball organisation MLB to bring its roster of 30 teams to the next release of Tap Sports Baseball.

The partnership has been made between Glu, MLB, the Major League Baseball Players Association and the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association. This ensures that Glu has access to all current teams and players, and some former players.

The developer also signed up baseball player Kris Bryant to be a key figure for the game. This marks Bryant's second consecutive year as the face of Tap Sports Baseball.

Authentic edge

"We are thrilled to add the MLB license to Tap Sports Baseball, which gives us the ability to add all 30 team and league marks, logos, and uniforms to the game," said Chris Akhavan, Glu's Chief Revenue Officer.

"Glu has continued to grow this franchise year-over-year and we can't wait to launch a fully licensed product that delivers an authentic MLB experience just in time for the 2017 season."

Tap Sports Baseball 2016 was one of the evergreen games Glu identified as a key revenue driver in its FY16 financials. The addition of licensed teams and players is likely hoped to push its revenues even higher.
