Zynga remains loss-making but revenues and bookings increase in Q4 2016

Zynga (NASDAQ:ZNGA) has released its financials for its Q4 2016 for the three months ending December 31st 2016.

It posted revenues of $190.5 million, up 3% year-on-year and 4% sequentially. However, it made a loss of $35.4 million for the quarter, an improvement of 15% sequentially.

Revenues for the whole of 2016 came in at $741.4 million, down 3% year-on-year. Net loss for 2016 was $108.2 million, an improvement of 11% year-on-year.

People love poker

Mobile revenues for Q4 accounted for 81% of all revenue, generating $154.7 million, up 20% year-on-year and 6% sequentially.

Breaking this down further, Zynga identified that Zynga Poker, Hit It Rich! Slots and Wizard of Oz Slots accounted for 20%, 11% and 10% of its online game revenue for the quarter.

Zynga also noted that the release of Dawn of Titans helped increase bookings for the quarter, and CSR Racing 2 was a key driver in bookings for the year as a whole. It expects both games to be long-running titles for the company.
