UK Games Fund awards 15 developers up to £25,000 each in third round of funding

The UK government has awarded 15 more game developers grants from the third round of its UK Games Fund initiative.

Grants of up to £25,000 each have been awarded to developers across the country working on mobile, console and VR games. The fund is set to award up to £4 million overall.

Dashy Crashy developer Dumpling Design was one of the studios to be awarded funding. Dundee's Stormcloud Games, London's Quite Fresh and Nottingham's Crash Lab also earned funding.

Global reputation for excellence

"I am proud of our global reputation for excellence in games development and hope this cash boost helps these projects become the leading games of tomorrow," said Minister of State for Digital and Culture Matt Hancock.

"Video games, and the wider creative industries, are at the heart of our work on developing a new industrial strategy, and we will continue to do all we can to help build on the success of the sector and promote it as a major economic and cultural force."

The UK Games Fund opened its third round in October 2016. It had awarded £1.3 million of its allotted £4 million at the time.
