Finnish developer Nitro Games considers public listing to support self-publishing efforts

Finnish mobile games developer Nitro Games is exploring the possibility of going public on the NASDAQ First North Stockholm.

Nitro hopes that the increased attention in its games from going public would help generate further downloads and revenues as it pushes into self-publishing. It also hopes to improve its ability to raise capital from investors more easily.

The developer believes it has proven itself capable through the use of its NG Platform. The platform allows rapid prototyping and iteration of its games, allowing it to quickly create new titles and get them onto the market for testing.

Expanding the business

"After exploring several options we believe that listing on NASDAQ First North Stockholm is the next phase in the progression of the Company, as we're looking to expand our business to self-publishing," said CEO and Co-Founder Jussi Tähtinen.

"We are offering an interesting opportunity for investors, as the marketplace is currently lacking a company like us and we have noticed great interest towards the Company."

Nitro's potential listing follows in the footsteps of fellow Finnish developer Next Games. The developer went public on NASDAQ First North Finland in March 2017, becoming the first games studio in the country to do so.
