Pocket Gamer UK expands to cover the hottest new digital board games

Leading mobile games consumer website Pocket Gamer UK is expanding its coverage to report on the hottest news in the world of digital board games.

The new dedicated section - branded TableTap - will cover board game adaptations from their physical counterparts and titles built from the ground up as digital-only board games.

Ticket to news

It’s an exciting and ever-growing genre on mobile – including huge brands like Risk and Ticket To Ride, as well as numerous excellent indie games - and Pocket Gamer UK aims to be at the centre of it.

To that end, Pocket Gamer veterans and board game enthusiasts Matt Thrower and Harry Slater will be providing all the news and insights into the sector every day. Video editor James Gilmour will be delivering regular videos with get-started tips for the biggest games.

Pocket Gamer UK’s board games section will be supported by publisher Asmodee.

"As a board gamer myself, I'm thrilled by this new section on our flagship site, as well as with our Asmodee relationship," commented Steel Media COO Dave Bradley.

"It's a genre of mobile game that does not receive as much attention as it should, perhaps because the games tend to be more challenging and detailed than popular casual games. But they are more rewarding as a result. One of the things our TableTap section will do is help demystify the genre, and help people learn how to play."

Asmodee Digital Chief Marketing Officer Philippe Dao said: "Asmodee Digital is very pleased with Pocket Gamer's initiative to create a new window for digital board games. We share the same belief that digital board games bring innovative gameplay and an immersive experience.

"While evergreen games such as Ticket To Ride and Pandemic have been adopted by board game players for years, these can also appeal to any player looking for intense single-player or multiplayer sessions.

"We at Asmodee Digital believe video content such as how-to-play videos will be praised by new players ready to get their hands at digital board games. Long life to TableTap!"
